RUNES!!!

I don't normally post pictures of runes - because runes are hey - runes after all yes?

NO! these are amazing runes - they are big for starters (see the half dollar in the bottom picture) and beautiful too. They are made from yew wood, harvested from my parents hedge - we take out only the dead bits, cut up with the band saw, and then sanded smooth before being burnt with the runes and polished with beeswax. They come to you in a very fancy crushed velvet bag - lined as well and plenty big enough for you to put your hand in and stir!

These were not quick to make - several hours to burn them - and right now I only have 4 sets. $55 each including shipping.

The lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] faerosedesigns provided me with more beads - so I was forced (!) to make some more gorgeous necklaces with them.

My pictures aren't coming out well today - i need some better light (half the light bulbs have blown in here....)

first up - turquoise-peacock-blue-green goddess with glass beads, lavender jade and Tibetan silver. I had a bit of wire over so made a bracelet to go with this one - $65

Photobucket

This one is a pinky - burgandy - purple goddess with lavender jade - paler and more pinky than the one above, rainbow moonstone, adventurine (dyed - but it matches perfectly!) and these really gorgeous pewter beads that I wish I'd bought more of! $60

Photobucket

This one is fun! and perfect to cheer you up in this weather - orangey beads with turquoise detail (the beads are all the same colour - the paler one is due to my photograph not the bead) and then turquoise howlite and haematite. The glass beads have detail on their backs too - I will post more pics in the etsy listing later on if you're interested (and you should be!) $50

I think these are cute - and while I'm tempted to keep them, my knitting is not in need of markers....they aren't cheap - the beads were a little pricey, as were the loops to make them snag free. The loops are 7mm. (oh and they're $16 for 6 or $3 each)

Photobucket

an ebay customer asked me if I could make pentacle/feri stars on pieces of Wild rose. I could, and I did....Rose is TOUGH to saw - especially as in order to avoid the pith up the middle - ok for runes but not for pendant - and to get the largest bits possible, I needed to cut into the knots - very very tough.

these are $5 - they are seriously limited in supply and they are tiny - the circle on the pentacle is penny size and on the Feri stars is dime size.

These are heading to work on Wednesday - so speak before then or lose out!!!!

first up - elemental prayer beads for those of you who are not of the feri inclination - they have 7 beads for each off the 5 elements - I'm really happy with these! one set is on ebay, one on etsy and one destined for the shop $55 - these take some time to make - all the fiddly wire bits - they also have a necklace clasp right at the front where it's not noticeable if you want to wear them as such - I've had some comments from people who want to wear the feri ones and can't because they're too short!

Photobucket

this is a very pretty rose quartz and rainbow moonstone necklace with an opalised glass goddess hung from it - also $55 - and will probably end up in the shop

I'm slowly trying to work through my fabric stash before getting an new (!!!) I found some pieces of Vintage wool tartan - most of which got used a while back - but it's made rather nice tarot bags - they're made like bank bags - so your cards are nice and secure without a fastening, they're roomy so easily can hold a standard deck wrapped in silk or even some of the larger decks.

they probably have other uses also - and I might make some smaller ones for cell phones/ipods and the like, so let me know if you're interested in those.

they're $8 each including shipping.....
